Welcome
Sepharial Lodge No. 555 is located in Berkley, Michigan and is part of the International Order of Freemasonry for Men and Women Le Droit Humain. It was established in Detroit in 1929 and meetings have been held without interruption since that time. In line with the principles of the Order, it is dedicated to complete equality between men and women, as well as among all races and religions.
The French term Le Droit Humain refers to those inalienable rights of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness that belong to all people, regardless of their sex, religion, ethnicity, occupation or social status.
When you become a Mason you commit yourself to the search for Truth and the great journey of self-discovery. Freemasonry uses a system of ritual, myth, and symbolism as a guide along that path. Its goal is to help members experience a Reality beyond everyday awareness, and members are left free to interpret that Reality as they understand it.
Although the purpose of Freemasonry is self-transformation, the over-arching aim is the spiritual, intellectual, and moral development of all human beings. It is by understanding our own inner nature that we come to realize our unity with all others. Working together in the Lodge provides members the experience of human connectedness, and it is in the deepest connection with others that we can experience the greatest transformation.
